PART: 1 Check Your Environment: The Transition Moment

Opening Reflection
I am grateful to be writing the first message in this year’s blog series, shared with those who continue to return for encouragement and reflection.
This series is called Check Your Environment.
Recently, I completed an assignment that lasted over four years. When it came to an end, I didn’t rush into what was next. I paused, reflected, and sat in gratitude.
Because some transitions are not meant to be rushed—they are meant to be understood.
What is important to also share is that I did not wait until the transition arrived to prepare for it. Once I knew this season was coming to an end, I began creating structure, implementing systems, and establishing an actual schedule to support what would come next.
I was preparing while still in the assignment so that when the transition arrived, I could move with clarity rather than confusion.
Before stepping forward, I also spent time with the Lord in gratitude—not only for the completion of the assignment, but for everything it developed in me.
There was growth in structure, discipline, consistency, and endurance. Most importantly, there was growth in surrender.
What I Learned in This Season
Transitions reveal what your environment has been shaping in you.
Preparation before transition creates peace during transition.
Not everything that ends is loss. Some endings are preparation.
Let’s Look at the Scriptures Together
“Everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected, but everything is to be received with a prayer of thanks.”
— 1 Timothy 4:4 (GNB)
“For everything comes from God alone. Everything lives by his power, and everything is for his glory.”
— Romans 11:36 (GNB)
How I Applied This in My Own Life (and how you can too)
In this season, I began to:
- Begin each day in prayer, reflection, and time in the Word.
- Create structure in areas that needed order before transition arrived.
- Release what no longer belonged in this next season.
Reader Takeaway
Peace is strengthened when preparation meets obedience before transition arrives.
