Welcome to Part 2 of our three-part blog series, Preparing for What Comes Next™.

In Part 1, we reflected on accepting the transition. Acceptance prepares our hearts to continue with the Lord. If you have not yet read Part 1, we invite you to begin there, as it provides the foundation for what we will continue together in Part 2.

Opening Reflection

After accepting the Lord’s transition for our lives, we begin walking by faith because we trust the Lord.

Because of that trust, He goes before us and guides us according to His Word.

Although we do not have all the answers, we know who does.

As we continue spending time with the Lord and studying His Word, His guidance becomes clearer.

As Psalm 37:23 (Good News Bible) reminds us,

“The LORD guides us in the way we should go and protects those who please him.”

Our desire is His desire.

Our agreement with Him is reflected in our willingness to allow Him to guide us throughout every step and every season.

With gratitude, we continue with the Lord because His presence remains with us.

What I Learned in This Season

The Lord reminded me that my future is in His hands.

I recognize that I am not beginning again because the service, growth, development, lessons, wisdom, understanding, discernment, skills, and capacity cultivated during the completed assignment continue with me.

Nothing I have experienced is wasted.

The Lord faithfully prepares us for what comes next through what He has already accomplished within us.

My responsibility is to continue putting my trust in Him and remaining aligned with Him.

Let’s Look at the Scripture Together

2 Corinthians 5:7 (Good News Bible)

“For our life is a matter of faith, not of sight.”

Psalm 37:23 (Good News Bible)

“The LORD guides us in the way we should go and protects those who please him.”

Together, these Scriptures remind us that our walk with the Lord is one of trust. As we spend time with Him and study His Word, He faithfully guides us according to His purpose, even when we cannot yet see what lies ahead.

How You Can Too

As you continue walking with the Lord, your next step may look different from someone else’s.

The Lord is walking alongside you and guiding you.

Because every assignment is different, the steps He leads each of us to take will also be different.

Here are some examples of what it may look like when the Lord is walking alongside you and guiding you.

Communication & Relationships

• Making a phone call.

• Requesting a letter of recommendation.

Learning & Growth

• Writing the first sentence.

• Registering for a course.

Employment & Business

• Scheduling an interview.

• Applying to establish an LLC or business.

Home & Organization

• Organize your home to make space for peace.

• Prepare your home for gathering with family and friends.

Health & Wellness

• Spend time outdoors.

• Care for your physical well-being.

Caregiving & Service

• Prepare a meal for your family.

• Care for a family member or friend.

These are simply examples of what it may look like when the Lord is walking alongside you and guiding you.

Your next step may look different, and that is okay.

The Lord knows what is best for you.

As you continue spending time with Him and studying His Word, He will faithfully guide you according to His purpose for your life.

With each step, the Lord continues preparing within us what will one day become visible.
